His incredible love of music was caught by everyone around him. Every time Netanel Young would take up his position as DJ, no one remained indifferent. All the partygoers would get up and dance excitedly near the young, talented DJ. But this wasn't his only love. Along with his love of music, Netanel had another great love which had begun during his childhood in England.
Netanel loved the State of Israel. At the age of ten he announced to his family and friends that he intended one day to leave England, where he'd been born and raised, to make aliyah to Israel and draft into the IDF. There are childhood dreams which pass and are forgotten, but not Netanel's great dream. As soon as he turned eighteen, Netanel made aliyah to Israel, drafted into the army and became an outstanding combat soldier in Golani's 13th battalion.
Throughout, he never forgot his love of music. Alongside his army service, Netanel continued to infect everyone around him with rhythm, creating music and continuing to make partygoers happy.
During Simchat Torah, while the masses of terrorists attacked the Gaza Envelope settlements, Netanel and his friends headed out to fight them. Near Zikim, while in the midst of a heroic battle, Netanel was killed defending the land he had moved to all on his own.
Netanel's parents received the terrible news at their home in London, England's capital. They never expected to have thousands of people come to pay their respects to the lone soldier, their son Netanel. Despite the sirens they came in droves, and to the shiva as well, where they comforted the parents and asked to hear more and more about Netanel.
Netanel's parents, touched by the way they were treated, returned to their London home, but only to pack their belongings and make aliyah to the country their son had loved so much.
From now on, they would dance for him here.
